10 Best Places to Visit in Ireland

Ireland is a beautiful country, and it offers an abundance of scenic beauty all over the country.

It's not just one place that you can visit, but there are so many different places to choose from! I've narrowed down my favorite spots in Ireland to 10 of my favorite cities and towns that you can visit if you're looking for something fun to do while visiting Ireland.

Cliffs of Moher

The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland’s most popular attractions. The cliffs are the highest in Europe and can be seen from afar.

You can walk along the cliffs or take a tour, which includes a visit to their visitor center and gift shop as well as an observation tower at the top.

There is also an indoor restaurant on site where you can get food and beverages while watching people traverse over 1000 feet above sea level!

Dublin

Dublin is the capital of Ireland and it's a city of culture, history and entertainment. It is also known for being one of Europe's best cities to visit during the summer months. With its rich history, modern architecture and vibrant nightlife scene; Dublin has something for everyone!

Dublin has many attractions including museums, galleries, parks and gardens where you can learn more about Irish culture or enjoy some fun activities while exploring this beautiful city.

The Rock of Cashel

If you're looking for a place to spend the day, The Rock of Cashel is a popular tourist attraction. It's located in County Tipperary and was built in the 12th century by Irish chieftain Turlogh O'Brien, who wanted to build an impenetrable fortress where he could keep his family safe from invaders.

Since then, it has been used as a prison (in 1798), barracks (during World War II) and even as a military airfield during World War I.

The Rock of Cashel is also known as "ancient Cashel" or "the seat of learning." In fact, it was here that medieval scholars studied astronomy and mathematics under the direction of St. Finian—so if you're interested in learning more about this historic site while traveling through Ireland with your family or friends

Galway City

Galway City is a lively and historic Irish city with lots of things to do. It's home to Benbulben Hill, which offers spectacular views over the city and its bay, as well as the Claddagh Ring—a renowned symbol of friendship in Ireland.

There are many museums and art galleries in Galway that will appeal to both locals and visitors alike, while restaurants offer delicious food options such as seafood cravings or traditional Irish fare like bangers & mash.

The weather here is ideal during springtime (March through May), when you can enjoy warm days followed by cool evenings at night—perfect for relaxing after exploring all day! If you're looking for something more active than sightseeing during your visit then take advantage of one of Galway's many outdoor activities like hiking up Benbulben Hill or cycling along its coastal paths; these activities allow you access into nature without needing any special equipment either!

Killarney National Park

Killarney National Park is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ireland. It's home to some of the most beautiful scenery in all of Ireland, including lakes and rivers that flow into the sea. While you're there, be sure to check out some of its famous attractions:

  • The Old Bushmills Distillery - This distillery takes its name from an Irish whiskey produced here over 200 years ago. Today it produces a wide range of products including single malt whiskey, grain vodka and gin
  • Glendurgan Wood - This ancient forest is home to many rare animals such as red squirrels, golden eagles and woodpeckers
  • Booths' Castle - This castle was built by Sir John Boght around 1680 but has since fallen into disrepair due to war damage during World War II

Ring of Kerry

The Ring of Kerry is a scenic coastal drive on the Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. It follows the coastline of the Iveragh Peninsula and passes through some of the most beautiful scenery in Ireland.

The route begins in Killarney from where you can take an excursion up to Caherciveen or do some shopping at Killorglin’s famous market day (every Thursday).

After touring around these two towns you can make your way back down to Killorglin by following R559 which leads directly into town along its winding roads or take another route via Cahercoveen if you want some more time exploring its countryside

Dingle Peninsula

The Dingle Peninsula is one of the most scenic areas of Ireland. It's a peninsula that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean and is home to some of the country's best beaches, scenic cliffs, and wildlife. If you're looking for a great place to visit with your family or friends, this might be it!

The Dingle Peninsula has everything from beautiful beaches (like Portmagee) to great walking trails (like An Sionna), so there's something here for everyone—even if they don't like water sports or nature walks (or even just sitting around).

Giant’s Causeway

The Giant's Causeway is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous attractions in Ireland. It's located on the coast near Portstewart in Northern Ireland, about 20 minutes from Belfast by car.

The causeway was formed by lava flows from volcanoes that erupted millions of years ago. You can see them on both sides of the road as you drive through it: red rocks forming patterns that seem to have been formed by human hands (but they're actually just natural).

Some people think they were built by giants! Others say that they were built by fairies while others blame aliens or time travelers who came down from space with laser beams and put these rocks here so everyone would have something to marvel at when they drove past them on their way out into space again after spending thousands upon thousands of dollars to visit this place because no one ever wants to come home without seeing something new—even if it's just another piece of rock sitting there for hundreds or thousands more years before disappearing forever like everything else does at some point anyway...

Blarney Stone & Blarney Castle

The Blarney Stone, located at the top of a narrow staircase inside Blarney Castle, is a limestone block with kissing lips carved into it. It's said to have magical powers and has been kissed by many famous visitors over the years.

The castle itself was built by Sir John de Burgh in 1328 as part of his effort to strengthen Cork City against attacks by its neighbors. Today, it stands as one of Ireland's most popular tourist destinations thanks to its beautiful gardens and excellent visitor center (which includes a museum).

Belfast

Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland and is a great place to visit. The city has a lot of history, it's vibrant and you'll find a lot of attractions to keep you busy while you're there. There are so many things to do in Belfast that you will never run out of things to see or do!

Belfast has some great restaurants and bars where you can get food & drink if your travel budget allows it.
